Hey there, I’m Kennedy Cottrell—a photographer, social media manager, and copywriter by day at a creative agency, currently based in Chicago. My world revolves around storytelling, whether it’s through a camera lens or a killer caption.
I kicked off my journey at the University of Arkansas School of Journalism and Strategic Media, where I honed my skills in copywriting and visual storytelling, earning my BA in Journalism in 2018. Post-grad, I made my way to Denver, spending three years soaking up the city’s creative energy. One of my highlights? Serving as the in-house photographer for Meow Wolf Denver, documenting their mind-bending exhibits from inception to completion.
Beyond Meow Wolf, my work has been featured in 303 Magazine & Do303, and I even launched my own online magazine, HVNLY Media, where I blend photography and writing to bring fresh perspectives to the digital space (check us out at hvnlymedia.com and on Instagram).
My portfolio spans across brands, artists, festivals, and museums, collaborating with names like Liquid Death, Coca-Cola, About Face Beauty, Ulta, Treehut, Live Nation, WNDR Museum, ESPN X Games, Summerfest, Lollapalooza, Vans Warped Tour, Pitchfork Music Festival, Riot Fest, Pride in the Park, and more.
When I’m not crafting brand stories or snapping photos, I dive into web design, social media content production, product photography, and aerial cinematography. If you’re looking for someone to elevate your visuals—whether it’s a tour, concert, event, real estate project, wedding, drone work, or portraits—let’s make magic happen.
